Bajo el título "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" algo así en su traducción como: "Cuerpos Celestiales: la Moda y la Imaginación Católica" se inauguraba anoche la exposición vigente del 10 de mayo al 8 de octubre en el Costume
Institute del Museo Metropolitano de Nueva York.
Creencias aparte, la iconografía católica lleva inspirando a la Moda desde siempre. Grandes figuras como Galliano, Gaultier, McQueen, Valentino o D&G fueron abanderados de ésta "inspiración divina".
50 piezas Preservadas por el Vaticano han sido cedidas para enriquecer ésta exposición, cuya inauguración supone cada año el acontecimiento de Moda mas importante del Mundo. La que prometía ser una de las temáticas mas controvertidas de la MET GALA, no ha dejado indiferente a nadie.
El precio por poder acceder a la noche más glamurosa del año es de 30000$ , pero asciende hasta los 275000$ por tener un lugar en una de las mesas durante la selecta cena. Recordemos que el motivo de esta gala es el recaudar fondos para la preservación del Museo. Alrededor de 600 personas acuden a este evento, una selecta lista de personalidades que su organizadora desde 1995, la Editora Jefe de Vogue USA Anna Wintour ,revisa personalmente dando el visto bueno a cada una de ellas (el poder de la Moda).

Como curiosidad, el uso de móviles en el interior está prohibido; de manera que nada se sabe a ciencia cierta de lo que año tras año acontece en el interior.
